CANDIDATES FROM WARD1: IN-DEPTH INTERVIEWS

Interviews by Dogfish

With five candidates running from Ward 1, we wanted to give the concerned voters of Gulfport as much information as possible to decide on the candidate that they feel is the best person for the job.  In our interview, we gave the candidates as much time as they needed to expound on their positions, beliefs and vision for the future of Gulfport.

Each candidate was given the same questions and as much as possible, they are all in the same order as presented and answered.  Each candidate also given an opportunity to have an opening statement and, at the end of the interview, they were asked if there was anything else they wanted to talk about.  Responses were recorded and the statements and answers are pretty much the way they were recorded.  Please make allowances for structure, since conversational communication is not as formal as written communication.

We wish to thank all the candidates for agreeing to participate in this interview process in the interest of creating an informed electorate.

I hope you enjoy the interviews as much as I enjoyed doing them.  I found each candidate honestly believing that they were the best person for the job, with their primary interest being the betterment of Gulfport as a whole.

Indeed, the interviews were well framed and the questions well considered.
This forum, in general, is very informative and well written.
Sunshine is the best disinfectant they say, and you have open the windows and allowed it to shine. There are so many issues that I was unaware of and a level of governmental dysfunction that concerns me. All the while I was imagining a quaint, harmonious city where my retired family had settled until I was most recently made aware that they had moved into the wrong neighborhood. I can not believe that they had to live in smoke, with their health conditions, and wouldn’t tell us until now. I’m so delighted that the people you interviewed were all apposed to it continuing.

    Keep up the good work
    Shepherd
